September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness month. We wear our gold
ribbons, we put up our icons/symbols of support on our social
networking sites, maybe own a few t-shirts, then, when September is
over, then what. What changes, what lies ahead for the kids, their families
the other 11 months of the year. When the shirts are tucked back into
the drawers, the social media images are changed, where do we go and
what do we do.
What we do here, at The Gold Hope Project, is
more than images, more than lasting memories we give to families for
them the cherish. What we also do here is inform, spread awareness all
12 months of the year, we invest into research (we shall be moving this
direction soon), and we carry the flame of Hope. We hope that we can
light fires under people, people like you who will read this information
and be shocked at the numbers, who feel compelled to "do something".
One
final question for you -- if the country was more aware of childhood
cancer after the awareness month, would they join us in the battle?
Would you? I certainly hope so, and until we convince you to help find
cures, we'll be here continuing the fight with our voices, with our
words, with our actions, with our images.
Let's talk numbers
