Meet Caden

Caden was diagnosed with leukemia at age 2, in August of 2010. It was a total shock as he only had a few vague symptoms prior, nothing that would have made us think cancer. Caden began treatment right away, he gained 1/3 of his body weight due to high dose steroids, he has had more transfusions than I care too recall, an opportunistic infection that resulted in a month in the hospital and nearly three weeks of him not eating a single bite of food. Caden is currently still in treatment, it takes 3.5 years of chemo to treat boys with ALL (the kind of leukemia he has) he's already experienced side effects and he's not even done yet. He has neuropathy in his legs and feet, he has developed SVT, where his heart beats out of control (up to 255 beats a minute!) we don't know what the future holds, but we are excited that he has a chance. We call him Caden Monster for a reason...NOTHING can hold this little guy down! Not even Leukemia!!
