Meet Sophia

Sophia was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on July 13th, 2012 just 9 days before her 2nd birthday. Sophia's symptoms starting in June 2012, she was always tired, didn't seem like herself, she had an ongoing fever, diarrhea, and leg pain. By the time Sophia's treatments started she could barely walk and eventually had to crawl around, which was probably one of the hardest things to witness. Our pediatrician thought that Sophia had some type of virus but after a few weeks we learned about her cancer. Treatment for ALL is 2 1/2 years, the first 6 months being the hardest. We have just finished with the first 6 months and although it was a rough 6 months Sophia did great! The next 2 years wont be so hard on her fortunately and our lives will be able to get a little back to normal. Sophia's prognosis is good, ALL has a high success rate fur curing. Sophia is now in remission after only 1 month of chemo and it is very unlikely for her to relapse although the fear is there. She is a little fighter and wont let cancer bring her down.
