Meet Charlie

Meet Charlie. He is a 3 month old who is quite the little fighter. Charlie has a rare form of leukemia called juvenile myelomonocyctic leukemia or JMML. JMML is caused by a genetic mutation and affects just 1 in every 3 million children. The only treatment is a bone marrow transplant, and at this point in time, Charlie's prognosis is up in the air. What we do know is that only half of the children with JMML survive. Charlie is an absolutely beautiful little boy, with a gorgeous smile, who is full of so much life and joy. He has a shunt in his head, he's on oxygen, and he has to eat from a tube, but he fights on. He has a beautiful family who is doing everything they can to give Charlie the best care possible. Charlie attends one of the leading hospitals in the country for children. Keep up the good fight, Charlie! We are all rooting for you!
