Meet Ian

Ian was diagnosed in September 2007 with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL) when he was only 4 years old. At first, he took well to chemotherapy. Soon after, chemotherapy began to take a toll on his little body. He fractured both femurs because of necrosis. He suffered neuropathy and was having a difficult time walking. He was off a few chemotherapy drugs to give his body time to recover. A year later, he once again was on a full regiment of chemotherapy treatment for ALL. He finished treatment 2 years ago and is a healthy 9 year old boy who loves Lego, reading, computer games, and everyday activities like bike riding and playing outdoors. It was so refreshing to see a kid so excited about nature and being outdoors! When I had talked with Ian's mom about what he was into, she immediately started talking about nature, exploring, and being outdoors. That is so true about Ian, he has such a love for being outdoors and exploring - probably helps that his parents are science teachers! You would've never known that he had to battle cancer when he was younger. He's so bright and strong, and has such a wonderful family supporting him too! It was hard to pick just a few images to share from his session, but here are a few of my favorites. Images by: Lindsey Clare Photography
