Meet Nora

Nora is a beautiful, adventurous, and active 20 months old girl. Nora looks and acts like most children her age. Although Nora seems like most other children, her life has been very different from theirs. At six months old Sarah Turner took her daughter to the pediatrician for a checkup. During this visit Nora was given an eye examination known as a Pediatric VEP Vision Test. Due to the failure of this exam, Sarah was advised to bring Nora to an ophthalmologist. The eye doctor determined that Nora was suffering from Retinoblastoma, a rare form of eye cancer, found in children. Sarah Turner immediately brought her daughter to a specialist at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was started on chemotherapy treatments and responded positively, almost right away. Today Nora Turner is a happy kid who loves spending time with her family, especially her sisters. When Nora's parents were asked what their favorite feature was about Nora the response was "Her eyes are beautiful... " and they really are. Nora loves to play outside and she loves the beach. Look at how she shows off those beautiful blue eyes in this photo shoot. Nora's FaceBook page is "VEP for kids to See" https://www.facebook.com/VEPforkids?fref=ts and her YouTube video can be found at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rx-n2CkGo1g&feature=youtu.be If you want to check if your children doctor's office offers the VEP vision test, please visit this website http://www.diopsys.com/
