Meet Caitlyn

Caitlyn is your typical 11 year old girl, she loves texting with friends, reading, playing with her dog, and art. You wouldn't know by looking at her now, but when Caitlyn was 8 yrs old and in the 2nd grade she was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, March 1, 2010 to be exact. A week after her diagnosis it was discovered that she had 2 subcategories of the leukemia cells which put her in the high risk category and required higher doses of chemotherapy. Because of the more intense treatment Caitlyn had to miss about 1/2 of 2nd grade and all of her 3rd grade years of school. Caitlyn has had many hurdles to climb and conquer, some being life threatening, but she did it! No matter how hard the fight was and how much it took out of her she always came out smiling with her big brown eyes shining. Through everything, everyone always commented on how she was always smiling.
